Accessible accommodation holiday services
The holiday services that we offer comes down to support services and accommodation as you would expect whilst at home, and plus a little bit more as you are not in your “normal” environment. We understand totally, that you may feel a bit out of your depth, a bit worried, scared even that you are not at home, comfortable with your surroundings, comfortable with your support workers who know you and understand your routine, what you want done and when!
This is where all I can do is try and assure you that we are here to get to know you, if you want something doing during your holiday, or we don’t do it quite right, or we do it differently to what you are used to then you tell us and we try again. The control is yours, you tell us, we listen and do as you ask. Simple really!
The services we can offer are as follows:
1. Accessible Accommodation. A range of accommodation ALL with level access showers all accessible to wheelchair users and anyone else.
2. Personal Support Workers. Qualified personal support workers to work with you, your family and friends so that everybody can enjoy their holiday.
3. Accessible Adapted Transport. Our minibus can take up to eight disabled or non-disabled passengers, it is accessible to all with a tail lift for wheelchair users, or for people with reduced mobility. Fully adapted with Unwin Tracking System, the bus is available to all guests as a door-to-door service, for transfers to/from ports and airports, for guests that want to go out; maybe you just fancy a drink of some of the local wine and do not want to drive. The onboard fridge and quality sound system come in handy too on those long journeys.
4. Equipment Hire. Any equipment can be hired and ready for your use on arrival. This includes hoists, shower chairs, specialist beds, specialist mattresses, air mattresses. Have a look at some Equipment hire options here. If you are staying at La Roche-derrien and the piece of equipment you need is part of our stock then there will be NO CHARGE.
5. Access to Medical Services. We can arrange that medical services be made available during your holiday; this includes local doctors and nurses.
6. Support with Holiday Travel Arrangements. We can help you to make your travel arrangements, either by phone or internet. We can ensure that you have the relevant paperwork, health certificates, have relevant travel insurance.
We arrange everything for you so you can enjoy the relaxing, “hassle free” holiday that we are sure that you deserve!
