To enjoy a wheel chair accessible vacation in France..
First you need to get here....
So you want to book a wheelchair accessible holiday but you're not sure how to get here. Obviously where you live is a major factor on deciding how you will travel. For international travellers there are options for flying into Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris and then TGV train to a local station, internal daily flight to Lannion, or hire an adapted car. For European travellers then fly, ferry, drive or let us come and pick you up!
The options available are:
Letting us take the strain
wheel chair accessible van from door to door, with support via ferry or Channel Tunnel.
We can come, pick you up from your door, in our accessible minibus, and bring you back here to your chosen accommodation. You can decide whether you want to use the ferry, Portsmouth to St Malo, or use the Tunnel and drive to the area.
While not a cheap option, If you were to split the cost with another party or bring a load of friends this option rapidly becomes VERY cost effective.

You must remember that:
-
Airlines are highly likely (and well within their rights) to search you
-
They WILL charge you extra for carrying baggage over and above the limits set out for you at the time of booking.
-
Getting on and off the plane can be 'interesting'.
-
Its very quick and a super way to start a holiday.

If you wished to drive from Calais, it is approximately 600 kms, approx 400 miles. This should take you in the region of 6 hours.
This is a long way, 600km is going to take the best part of a day so make a day out of it. Take your time, dont rush and see the sights.
Sailing into St Malo will leave you with a drive of 1.5 hours west to La roche-derrien and around 1 hour east if you sail into Roscoff.

Train
The train network is very good and reliable here. With the TGV running several times a day from Paris. All TGV’s have accessible carriages and disabled access toilets. Similar to the UK you will need to book any assistance that you may need. The route would be from Paris through to Brest, which stops at Guingamp. We can then offer you transfers from the station to your accommodation.
