Apartment five: Located on the top floor and accessed via lift or stairs. This apartment is a little different with it's vaulted ceilings in the lounge/dining and kitchen areas.
Now I have to point out that there are only two windows in this apartment that are going to be of any use to a person in a wheelchair. The location of this appartment in the building (up in the roof) means that velux roof windows are extensively used thoughout and planning regulations (it's a listed building) meant that they are not low enought to see out of unless standing. They are however very large velux windows and let in a huge amount of light.
The lounge dining area is really big and as usual our apartments comes with English TV, DVD and surround sound.
A wheelchair accessible computer desk and windows PC is built into apartment five. (see the pictures)
The sofa in the lounge turns into a bed
There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles. This (as with all of our apartments) can be reconfigured to suit your needs with hospital type beds or whatever.......
Hoisting from either bedroom into the shower room is not a problem.
This apartment has the smallest shower room/loo we have built although it is still plenty big enough for hoisting if required. Why have I pointed this out? Because it is our smallest loo/shower. It is NOT small though
